The SSRL welcomes all students and faculty back to AU for the new academic year!  We look forward to assisting you with all your statistics needs. As always, drop by the lab to speak with a consultant about the software we support.

As mentioned in a previous post, if you were around campus this summer you may have noticed several changes within CTRL, the teaching, resources, and learning center under which SSRL operates.  The SSRL location has NOT moved – we are still located in Hurst 203…and we still have all the resources you need to make your research awesome.

However, there have been a few notable changes:

1. We no longer support SPA and Math/Stat labs
That’s right – unlike years past, we will not be in charge of the SPA computer lab. That means do not expect to find one of our consultants there because they’re all hanging out at Hurst now.

If you need to make a reservation for the SPA lab, please contact the Anderson Computing Complex.

2. New Hours of Operation
At the moment, we are operating on the following schedule:

Monday – Thursday    9:30 am – 8:00 pm
Friday     9:30 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday    12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Sunday     CLOSED

The hours are subject to change – so stay posted!

In addition, there are other great SSRL things to look forward to:

1. In addition to research support, SSRL will have a special focus on data visualization. We will emphasize data visualization applications and how to make your research output engaging.

2.  More research tutorials! SSRL plans to have frequent tutorials on quantitative, qualitative, geospatial, and data visualization for students and faculty.

3. We will continue to have drop-in tutorial services this year. Stay tuned for the schedule that is to come in the near future.

We look forward to seeing you this year in the lab!
